EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: SUPPORT TO HUMAN RIGHTS, GENDER EQUALITY AND CIVIL SOCIETY IN GHANA.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is inviting expression of interest for its Support to Human Rights, Gender Equality and Civil Society in Ghana project”, funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to strengthen competencies in Civil Society, including women’s and youth organizations, in providing support to Survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and persons affected by discrimination. Civil Society Organizations and community intervention centres working on feminist issues, ensuring gender equality, and ending discrimination may express their interest in participating in an organization needs assessment and capacity building program. This is with the objective of strengthening their technical expertise in gender sensitive/transformative approaches in providing support to survivors of gender-based violence and persons affected by multiple forms of discrimination.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1. Eligible CSOs may be stakeholders working on feminist issues, or organizations which aim to ensure gender equality and ending multiple forms of discrimination. This also includes intervention centers at the community level that offer services to survivors of SGBV.

Eligible organizations must be duly registered as legal entities with proof of registration in Ghana. They may be national organizations but must have offices and work in the areas or regions they apply to work in.
3. Organizations must have been operational for a minimum of 3 years and have a proven track record of effectively addressing discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence including successful initiatives, partnerships, and community impact.
4. CSOs that prioritize inclusivity/intersectionality in their programs, ensuring representation and support for marginalized groups affected by discrimination and SGBV are highly encouraged to also apply.
Priority will be given to organizations willing to collaborate with other COs or grassroot organizations to create a unified front against discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence.

6. CSOs should have a clear plan for sustaining the initiatives developed during the capacity building program beyond the assessment period, showcasing a long-term commitment to the cause.
7. The commitment to performance improvement is key to the project goal. Organizations must be willing to commit time and human resources for participation in organizational needs assessment and training for institutional strengthening. Interested Organizations may nominate a maximum of two (2) staff to participate in the training with at least one being a senior member of staff.
