GSA, in partnership with GIZ Ghana and GIZ Côte d’Ivoire, is implementing the Shea Investment and Jobs Creation Program (SHIP): a 2-year program in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana with the primary objectives of enhancing the efficiency and profitability of women processors, establishing and strengthening new and existing kernel and shea butter cooperatives and assisting 50 European companies by facilitating the increased use of shea and shea derivatives in the European market. This will bolster the sustainability of the Ghanaian and Ivorian value chains, improve access to market and investment for women collectors and processors, and ultimately create decent job opportunities.
The GSA invites members and private sector companies, particularly enterprises with EU affiliations seeking to collaborate with women groups in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana to improve the knowledge capacity of women in existing kernel and butter cooperatives and facilitate direct sourcing with their shea cooperatives.
